The story behind the urns, and everything you need to tell it
Who we are, why we make memorial objects the way we do, and a media kit for writers covering memorial design, grief, or small-batch craft.
Our story
Memory Urns began after a relative's urn arrived chipped, in a plain carton, with no one to call. We decided that shouldn't be how it goes — so we built a small operation around two ideas: make the object worth keeping, and answer the phone.
We work directly with stone workshops and hardwood turners, skipping the middlemen that push prices up without improving anything. Every stone urn starts as a solid block of marble, granite or onyx — nothing poured, filled or veneered — and each piece is shaped on a lathe, wet-sanded, and checked individually before it ships.
The result: a solid marble urn that costs a fraction of what a funeral home charges for the same piece, made to sit on a mantel quietly and for a long time.
Our mission
An urn should feel like it belongs in the room
Not tucked in a cupboard, and never apologetic. We make memorial pieces that live in a home the way a good object does — and we keep them affordable, because a family in grief shouldn't have to choose between quality and cost.
