Urns delivered anywhere in Florida
We ship marble, granite and wood cremation urns, keepsakes and pet urns to every address in Florida, including Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Orlando and St. Petersburg. Orders leave our warehouse within 1 business day, standard ground delivery is 3–5 business days within the continental US, and shipping is free on orders over $100.
Memory Urns sells urns only; we are not a funeral home or crematory. Most funeral homes and crematories will transfer ashes into an urn you bring, or you can do it at home.
Florida rules for keeping and scattering ashes
Here is what state sources say. Local rules, parks and cemeteries can add their own requirements, so check with them before you plan a scattering or burial.
- The Florida Division of Funeral, Cemetery, and Consumer Services says ashes may be scattered on Florida land, but not in Florida fresh water.
- The Division suggests checking local rules, deed restrictions and any landlord or condo association before scattering on private property.
- Licensed cemeteries may offer scattering gardens (F.S. 497.005).
- Dividing ashes among family members needs the consent of the legally authorized person who approved the cremation (F.S. 497.607).
Scattering ashes at sea
Off the Florida coast, federal rules apply: ashes may be placed in the ocean at least three nautical miles from land, and the EPA must be told within 30 days.
Choosing an urn for your plans
If you plan to keep the ashes at home, a full-size marble cremation urn or granite urn is made to last on display. If you are scattering most of the ashes, a keepsake urn keeps a small portion close. For burial, ask the cemetery whether it requires an urn vault; see can cremation urns be buried.
Not sure of the size? Allow about one cubic inch for each pound of healthy body weight; our urn size guide explains it.
